The check valve allow to stop the passage of the oil in one direction and make it free in the opposite direction. Having a spring inside, it is often also called a “non-return” valve. The reverse flow is blocked by the presence of sealing systems such as conical poppet or balls in the closed position by helical springs or by the hydraulic pressure itself.

The spring setting determines the preload force and therefore the opening pressure.

The check valves are also used in the integrated circuits with the integrated check valve thanks to its small size.
