The flow dividers are used in hydraulic circuits in the presence of different branches powered from the same main pump but having different flow rates and pressures to allow the constant maintenance of the load losses. The flow passes through the inlet port of the divider which divides the flow in equal flow, distributing it through the two outlets.
If the flow divider is used in the opposite direction, i.e. by letting the oil enter from the two ports, the two flows will be combined in a single outlet.
